Down the Glass Hole?

[Tangerine, you had me at 'hello.']

So after many months of waiting, I finally picked up my Glass in New York City. Google set up a little loft across the street from their offices in Chelsea Market just for this purpose. As with all things Google, it was trendy, clean, well-designed, neat, and passed the optics test.

A friendly Google rep walked me through the basic features and off I went into the wild!

First impressions- this is an amazing development in the world of wearables. As expected, the currently available apps and their respective functionality is limited, but Google has promised monthly updates to the software and opportunities to test new apps created by developers. I am amazed by how light the device is and how unobtrusive the video screen is. Felt a bit like a zoo animal walking around New York City with this thing on, and I suspect this aspect will be much worse back in Washington, DC. Any fellow Glass Explorers in the DC metro area?

I'll reserve further comment until I've had a chance to play with the device more "in the wild," but I suspect Glass is certainly much more than the latest tech fad. The device will clearly evolve and go through many iterations, but Glass is definitely going to disrupt a few industries and opens up some amazing possibilities.
